About MyMedicare.gov

As of May 2006, Medicare beneficiaries are able to access www.MyMedicare.gov - the Medicare Beneficiary Portal. This is an Internet portal allowing registered beneficiaries the ability to view eligibility and entitlement information, enrollment information, deductible and address of record information. Beginning as a pilot program for Indiana residents in December of 2004, the program has now become nationwide.

Total registered users have surpassed 140,000 people with an average of 400 new registrants a day. Once registered online, users are able to access the past six months of claims history. Eventually, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services hopes to have 15 months displayed for its users. www.MyMedicare.gov and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) are encouraging Medicare beneficiaries to utilize this adjudicated claims information.

As a user of this site, individuals may now conduct the following business online:

  • Access the status of your adjudicated claims as well as search for a specific claim
  • View claim status (excluding Part D claims)
  • Order a duplicate Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) or replacement Medicare card
  • View eligibility, entitlement and preventive services information
  • View enrollment information including prescription drug plans
  • View or modify your drug list and pharmacy information
  • Order replacement Medicare card
  • View address of record with Medicare and Part B deductible status
  • Access online forms, publications and messages sent by CMS.

To register for the site, individuals will need their Medicare card. After the registration is complete, a letter with your password will be sent to the users home up to 14 days after an individual registered online. For more information, contact 1-800-MEDICARE or go online to www.MyMedicare.gov.
